Administration Role - Full Time

We’re looking to fill an administration role within our business to help manage the day-to-day admin side of our operations. Saltwater Seafoods is a seafood wholesaler and retailer based in Hastings, supplying both local customers and the wider New Zealand market. Plus we have busy retail shop.

About the role

This is a busy, varied position supporting both the office and wider business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Invoicing using Xero

  • Arranging and ordering goods and services

  • Answering and screening phone calls and emails

  • Greeting and receiving customers and visitors

  • Managing documents and filing (physical and digital)

  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook email system

  • Assisting with management and processing of customer orders

  • Providing general support across the business, including helping with some deliveries and assisting in the shop when required

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • A good, can-do attitude and friendly manner

  • Confidence using technology and business applications

  • Experience with invoicing (Xero) and Microsoft Office

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in the seafood industry is an advantage, but not essential

  • Approx 45 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Shop Role - Fulltime or Part-Time

Our busy retail shop is looking for someone to join our team. This role is retail based and includes some unloading of stock so this role would best suit someone physically fit and/or young. We're a seafood wholesaler and retailer based in Hastings.

The role will include:

  • Serving customers instore

  • Replenishing stock

  • Assistance with unloading incoming pallets and stock

Skills essential for the role:

  • Customer service skills

  • Physical fitness and strength

  • Someone who can work as a team

  • Basic food and cash handling skills

  • Cleanliness

  • Reliable with own transport

This role offers 30-40 hours of work per week.
